When Feelings Fade

Wednesday, October 14, 2026

I’m learning to let my mind change—to grow through doubt and move beyond beliefs that once served me. I can be grateful for what helped me before and still be willing to see differently.

There have been stretches of peace in my life. Then something happens. A close friend dies. A job is lost. Someone I love gets sick. What felt steady suddenly feels uncertain.

When those feelings of peace fade and I reach the end of myself, there is still God, faith, and one foot in front of the other.

I keep doing what I know helps. I stay willing to change course when necessary. Some days, that is all I can manage.

I used to think a spiritual experience had to feel profound, almost magical. These days, I recognize it in clarity, joy, and quiet moments of peace. I’m also learning that faith can remain when those feelings don’t.

Maybe acceptance is learning to face what is here without needing to understand it all.

Today, I can leave room for doubt, ask God for guidance, and take the next step—even before peace returns.

Do you know someone who needs to hear this today?
